So following on from my last thread, let's see what the best job (if you had one) you have ever done.

Mine has to be my current job and I have been here for 10 years, so it must be pretty decent for me to stay that long (I get bored quite easily) and my job is...... A docker :D

I drive Ship to shore cranes that unload container ships, I drive reach stackers that load containers onto lorries, I drive forklifts from 2 ton all the way up to 42 ton, I drive Tugmasters/IMVs and mini buses. The hardest part of my job is being shift work.

My current job, a nurse working in A & E.

Can be traumatic, and I've witnessed some horrible sights, but it really is a rewarding career.

I've not had many jobs excluding different levels of seniority within the same fields but they've mostly been quite varied so I don't think I can pick one because they've all had both good points and bad points.

One of the most (surprisingly) enjoyable things although only a small part of my job I've done is user training. I thought this would be really daunting and scary but it actually feels great being able to talk about a subject with authority, helping people to learn and even show them a practical application for the product within their business. The time absolutely flies by, you can be sat there looking through slides and training material a few days before thinking "**** I'm not sure there's enough here to last a two day course!" and then you hit lunch on the first day only 10% through!

Taking a college where the Main Contractor had gone into Administration and bidding to take the remainder of the project on.

Learnt so much including humility where smaller firms were owed so much by this firm who had gone bust and literally these guys were about to lose everything they had worked for including their houses.

Well I just started a new job, so far I am loving it. Leading a tech team in a Movie FX company, we are working on the big hollywood blockbusters (current one is about to wrap up - it is released in July). Had my first Hollywood moment when I randomly met some very famous siblings in the corridor.

Probably my second job, which was working as a sales administrator in a car dealership.
It was a case of 'needs must' at the time as my previous job had been made untenable.
I really loved cars then though, the job was given to me on that basis rather than experience.
It was just a fun environment and i enjoyed the work and had some really good friendships going.
Unfortunately as it was a small dealer no where to really progress so I went back into IT.

Currently doing IT consulting for a variety of small to midsize 'quirky' businesses and organisations with relatively deep pockets based in and around central London. Really nice mix of clients, very interesting work.

My favourite was when I worked for a publishing house/web design company doing image retouching, mostly for travel companies and advertising agencies. I'll never trust any image I see in a holiday brochure again after the horrors I saw before I got my hands on them.

Easiest job - Working in an old timey themed sweet shop. Easy word, lots of people to talk to, and as many free sweets as I could handle.

Best job - Probably doing my PhD (although it's not technically a job, but close enough...). I get enough money to get by comfortably, get to play around with my own research and some fun chemicals, and get a cool title at the end of it.
