Thoughts of a PC Gamer about GTA V & Patience

Get a PS3 and PS+

Then enjoy GTA5 and all the free PS3 games that come with it every month. Will eventually feel like it's paid off the console with the amount of freebies.

Shame because Rockstar should at least show off Agent.

On the GTA V topic I think Rockstar would be silly not to release it on the next gen consoles but I think it will only end up with a PC port tbh.

isn't the PS4 similar to a modern PC anyway?

surely it would be simple to port the PC version over to PS4?

Thanks for the replies guys.

I think I'm going to hold on till E3 to see if they announce something. That would be 10th to 12th of June. If there's nothing by then, I reckon it will have to be a PS3, just because the online service is free really.

EDIT: Having said that, if you look at the list of exhibitors for E3, Rockstar aren't actually there...so the 'news' that suggested they'd announce it at E3 might be more speculation/made-up-crap. (http://e314.mapyourshow.com/5_0/exhibitor_results.cfm?type=alpha&alpha=R)

Rockstar don't do E3.

If it was on PC, would you use a controller or keyboard and mouse to play the game? If it's the latter, get yourself a XIM Edge which let's you play on the PS3 or 360 with a kb and mouse and controller or both. Works great with GTA V as that's what I use. Run it through your PC monitor on your desk and you're pretty much playing GTA V on PC!

if only for GTAV I'd get it on the 360 because of the controller

you'll spend a lot of time using the triggers for driving, and for me the 360 controller is more comfortable for games when you're holding in the triggers for long periods

Games aren't ported, so the simplicity of something that doesn't happen is irrelevant. People seem to think it's just a big red "PORT" button that's pressed at the bottom of the game's source code.

Assuming they release a PC version.

There's no reason not to, they will rake in a lot of cash for comparatively little effort (compared to starting a whole new game).

I wouldn't be surprised if they have been working on PS4/Xbone ports and with that a PC version as the architectures are so similar.

Personally I'd go PS3 because One Disc, online is free and you get a BluRay player however you won't be able to do HDMI > DVI because of HDCP (or whatever it is) unless you get a DVI adapter that's HDCP Compliant.

As long as the display supports HDCP it'll be fine, you can just use a simple HDMI-to-DVI cable.

If you've waited this long...then just hold out you can do it :p

The mods will more than make up for anything you feel like you've lost out on playing it from a console.
