Had the misfortune of running over a 4" high paving block discarded on the slip road @ 50 mph. Got a new wheel now, place that fitted it said this was now scrap.

You could straighten it but it wouldn't be worth doing on that. Most alloys would crack before bending that much so it's done well.

certainly repairable,

whether or not it would be financially viable or you would have the confidence in using it again.

seen plenty of alloys far worse than that repaired

I did this to my alloy 4 years ago. Told by many people no point getting it repaired. It could crack be weaker there or not seal properly.

I ran over a deer and bent 2 alloys, one developed a crack. Which was straightened and welded and have been fine for 30k miles.

Well would you trust it knowing the state it had been in?

Sure - it's a wide angle regular dent with a smooth surface deformity - can't see any reason why it couldn't be repaired as I doubt there is a high specific load anywhere on that dent.

It's the short, sharp, acute angled irregular dents that are tricky to repair, often failing with stress fractures later.

But the chances of a catastrophic failure are slim. Chances are like mine it'll leak air well before the crack get wide enough to cause major issues
