It shows the opinion of an iPhone user, however I also agree the iPhone UI looks embarrassingly dated compared to modern phones. That picture nails it!
That's just one person, though. You are also only comparing two homescreen layouts, one default and one modified. Yes, you can't change the iPhone one much, but yours isn't exactly showing tons of information in comparison, is it? That's what the notification centre is for, you just swipe down from the top and there's more info there. You can swipe up too for the control centre on the iPhone.
There's a much bigger picture when you actually dive into the individual apps, as most people do, most often. The iPhone apps would essentially wipe the floor with the ones on Windows Phone, for the most part. So your picture isn't really showing much. Then you've got to consider the quality of coherent design within said apps, I bet there's no comparison there either.
iOS 7 may not be to all tastes, but what it has behind it elevates it far beyond what WP8 can offer, and that's not even getting onto the iTunes side of things. You're free to disagree (and you no doubt will do), but as far as I'm concerned, Windows Phone and iOS don't have massively different approaches, but one has a vastly superior ecosystem to the other.

Brenn, you're not going to pursued us.
I'm not trying to pesuade anyone, I was just posting the views of a current iPhone owner who now thinks it looks like a childs toy and is off to get a Nokia 925 on Tuesday.
they might eventually discover they've downgraded
I hope said person has researched it, as they might eventually discover they've downgraded when they actually use it...
Anyway, you ignored my question (again), if home screens are the most important thing to you, why not get an Android phone?
He might, but he seems pretty positive he's binning his iPhone due to it looking *stupid*.

His one friend on Facebook isn't really a compelling argument.![]()

My ONE friend..... OK, I'm out, rant about how good your iPhone is all you like. I don't care.![]()

I only want to know why you didn't get an Android phone, purely out of interest!
You seem to like configuring home screens and looking at them a lot, so you'd be in heaven on Android.
The guy likes WP so just let him be. Why try pushing him into something he doesn't want? I personally made the switch from android to WP as did a friend of mine and neither of us have looking backed regretting our move. The UI is one aspect but the overall user experience is also great. The Windows ecosystem is also getting so much better. That alone is why my next upgrade will be another WP phone.
