Quick query on selling wheels fitted with tyres that are not legal

Have 4 wheels that a friend is a little too lazy to sell so doing it for him.

The wheels have tyres fitted, 3 of which have a bald inner shoulder.

Provided it is stated that the tyres would not be legal, can I still sell the wheels with the tyres fitted or would it be the sellers duty to remove the offending rubber?

you could always have the tyres removed. Cheaper and lighter to post.

There's no requirement for tyres to be legal. The requirement is for them to be legal when used on the road. You can sell them in whatever condition you like, don't worry about it.

Wheels were collected so wasn't worried about postage

Chap picked up today and couldn't care less about the tyres, he'd already priced up replacements.

Was just a random Facebook do-gooder who put doubts in our minds.
