There's a lot of new driver, first car purchase and inexperienced car owner threads here, to come on here and wave around a 'bargain' car could potentially have people searching or even purchasing something they thought was the right price and find they have bought into trouble.

The OP is a half truth, if the OP had said look how cheap a cat C car is and what great value Rovers are bhp per £ even though it was a Cat C the thread would have ended up very differently.

This is a very level headed sub forum where BS and lies are weeded out quite quickly. Unless your name is DM then it goes on for months.
 
DM was not a real person, the house, cars, holidays etc was all made up.

Bet the poster behind DM is still among us.
 
Didn't the 'elite' member (elite lol... gay) do some digging to find out absoloutly everything to do with DM and his story, to be fake? Just completely made up by someone in internet fairy land?

No idea. Wasn't around for it. I got those results with a "diamondmark ocuk" google search.

Everything was a fabrication down to the daughters account and the family member who was upset. As soon as it was rumbled everything disappeared.

Suppose it was so unbelievable it was very believable
 
I actually spoke to him on the phone, he seemed a nice enough bloke and actually gave me some good advice around buying a diamond engagement ring. Weird how it all turned out!
 
I still miss DM. :D
Anyway, belt change all done, running much better (old belts were beyond due and stretched) and still have change from a grand including getting the car home - yay.

Been out for a blast today, apart from a couple of niggles (clock is missing a couple of digits and a rattle from the steering column area) it's now spot on with nothing else to do.

Better sell it then... :p
 
Why was there never an 'official' explanation of what happened with DM?

Does motors still have the IRC thingy? Are people allowed/willing to say what happened on there? Why is it akin to a conspiracy?
