Hi,

just thought I'd start this, who has experienced this. I' am getting a lot of calls from companies like "energy department services" or like "utility services", they are definitely Indian and calling from India as their accent gives it away even though they claim to be operating with in the UK.

It is getting really annoying now as I get calls of up to 5-8 times a day now. Any suggestions to track/block them or report them?

I use my phone (htc one) to block them with the "blocked contacts" option, this is only good if they don't with hold there number :)

Truecall. Seriously, Truecall. It's the only way to completely block cold callers. I used to get loads, despite being registered with TPS but since buying one a few years ago, I've not had a single one get through.

Price comparison websites are the worst for selling data. Always read the little boxes or just don't use your own number. Its quite simple.

I got this strange call yesterday, some guy kept sneezing at me down the phone.

I think he must have been a cold caller.

I seem to be getting lots of calls from boiler room sorts wanting me to invest in the next big thing. It is annoying as I am X directory, unregistered and TPS registered but sadly this means nothing to these places. Ive had 5 or 6 since the start of the year, usually some chirpy southern monkey or cocky home counties posh boy with an ego the size of surrey. Always unregistered and using the name Anderson Goldberg, to which I can only find a wine company with said name.

Got to the stage where I simply slam down before they get chance to say anything of note.

Most telecomm providers have this kind of service. It does cost however, but if it's causing them a lot of stress and hassle then worth the price IMHO.

I actually meant 'They wouldn't love that', I was being sarcastic.
If I blocked withheld numbers a lot of people wouldn't be able to contact me.

Like I said earlier I use a very simple method:
If there is the 3 second gap before you hear the caller switch on I put the phone down.
If the caller immediately starts talking about stuff I'm not interested in I just put the phone down.
If it's a scammer I'll keep them on the phone while I do other stuff.
