David Moyes disgracefully sacked

rumour been out for over an hour now and nothing concrete

if united are trying to force his hand then that's a very very poor show. moyes wont resign and that's not down to money, i just don't think he would.

clearly out of his depth but this is unbelievable pressure, pressure he'd never have felt before. i get the impression things were quite breezy with the chairman of everton.

united should have persuaded ferguson to stay for another season with moyes as an understudy. throwing moyes straight into the position of manager was naive.

he hasn't helped himself. quite clearly needed media training and there's no excuse for fabregas/fellaini but utd and ferguson are just as much to blame and i wouldn't want to see the bloke get ill over it.

United fans on here what a proven winner, especially after moyes. Martinez isn't that. He's won an fa cup but then so have lot's of other managers since it became a cup the top 4 only got interested in at the semi final.

I don't think after this fiasco someone whose won an fa cup will cut it.

I think your right, Utd fans probably don't want Martinez another manager yet to prove himself at the top top level. I still think he's a class act who will one day be winning Champions Leagues. His teams play attractive football and his tactics always look spot on.

I bet there's a press release later from United stating that the rumours are false and the club are delighted with the work he has done.

There'll probably be riots in Manchester if that happens. :p

Please be Gary Neville.
Been emailing a mate from Uni this afternoon about stuff in general. Minutes after I first saw rumours about Moyes he emailed me. I knew what it was about. He thought Gary would be a good manager, at least in short term.

I agree with your general point. I don't think Moyes was ever the best appointment we could have made. So whilst he's made mistakes in firing staff, had poor transfer windows, we can't blame just Moyes. How about Ferguson for not giving us a decent midfielder. How about David Gill for leaving at the same time as Ferguson and thus giving us Ed Woodward. I believe Gill announced his departure before Ferguson. I think he should have reversed it, if the Glazers were OK with that, so that he could help ease Moyes into the job. Instead we've had a new manager and a new boss at the same time.

Can't see Klopp leaving this year. Dortmund are only just getting back to form after a season plagued with injuries, I wouldn't put it past him to have one more go at the Bundesliga title with a fully fit squad.

Wonder if the grim reaper is at Old Trafford at the moment hacking the 'chosen one' banner down. Would be kind of an appropriate end for it :D

Shades of Mourinho? ;)

Spalletti's time in Italy doesn't count?

It just seems a bit strange Klopp seems to be seen as head and shoulders above the rest, but meh.

It's not that strange to see why Klopp is favoured, especially considering the kind of football Dortmund played.

If it's true it adds weight to the suggestions that United will have had get out clauses in his contract about qualifying for the Champions League, as it's now mathematically impossible. That would at least explain why they've kept him on life support for so long and bemusingly backed him in recent months.

If this turns out to not be true, half the ocuk football forum will be buying rope in the morning :(

While the other half throw street parties.

It does make some sense doesn't it? Whilst we were still able to chase down 4th there was probably no point the board thought in sacking him considering the payouts. I know that we lost at Everton to the club Moyes left for us but the fact that we can't get 4th now and within 24 hours there's massive doubts over his future can't be a coincidence.

Still unbelievable how the players have shown no desire either, they are just as much to blame in this mess of a season.

Moyes is just the fall guy in all this.

Could be enough for the owners to pack up their stuff and sell, going to be a lot of money needed to sort the mess out.
