I made a massive mistake last night, I wasn't doing too well but decided not to let it go. I was determined to do well. Of course that didn't happen, things just got worse and worse, and I didn't get to bed until gone 6am...

playing on your own means that you might lose more than you want...
just like my game in bat chat 155 58...
where I had to kill bat chat 25 in TD mode while moving ;D
58 is my fav arty but would not expect to hit it on the move...here is the link. you can watch first few mins, after my kill, it just turns ugly ...

Started playing this and I'm truly awful!!! Obviously I need to learn the maps and the choke points but a few mates (console only players :( ) recommended I buy a decent tank to help increase XP and Cash gain, is this a good idea ?

I'm working my way through the British tanks and have unlocked the Vickers Medium Mk III but it needs pimping out. Would purchasing either the Matilda BP or Excelsior (1,500 gold) be a good idea ? cheers !
 
Everyone is bad when they start :) but the early tiers are for learning the game. I wouldn't advise jumping straight to higher level premiums but nothing wrong with mid range ones imo. Excelsior is supposed to be pretty goodwith decent armour for the tier.

To make things worse I started the british lines and am now up to tier VII. I recently started the Russian line so I am playing tier 3-5 knowing all of the maps and with tanks that have 1,000,000 worth of equipment such as 25% extra view range and camouflage. This gives a big advantage over someone just starting.
 
Damn addictive game this !! However, it keeps causing my nVidia drivers to fail/crash randomly. I've just updated to 337.61 to see if that helps but same thing occurs so what drivers are best or most consistent?

Don't buy a premium tank yet. Wait until you get to at least tier 6, then think about it.

And the latest patch is terrible for stability, most likely it's not your computer at fault. You'll probably find that Wargaming will fix the issues next patch.

This, and i keep getting lockups after leaving a game, before i get back to garage :-(
We have all seen players with less than 1000 battles in a T8 prem tank and they haven't got a clue.
Also when u die early, just right click on the mouse and watch the other players, especially the ones that are doing well, you can learn a lot from watching them.

On another note the reworked Severogorsk map is completely ruined now, how Wargaming managed to take an average map and destroy it while supposedly making it better is beyond me. Its now completely useless for light tanks or sniper tanks and its just another corridor brawler map where you poke and shoot. WHY!?
