So my two year old Golf MK6 GT TDI encountered problem after problem (2 air con units, sat nav, clutch and fly wheel two weeks in and finally a dodgy gear box bearing) and had to go plus I didn't really do the miles it deserved with living in central London.

I have always wanted a GTI since I've been able to drive and here she is:

Is that metallic black or carbon grey?

Let us know how you get on with the front assist / sensor in the front. I almost bought one of these but ultimately the front assist system put me off as it cant be permanently disabled. Too much tech!

The seats are standard and I love the design, they are classic MK1 GTI design!

The Front Assist and ACC are fantastic, when using ACC, the car can come to a complete stop at motorway speeds if the traffic stops or slows and if you have the DSG like me, it resumes the drive back up to your set speed. You can control the distance.

I have only ever had the front assist alert me once in 1200 miles, it will completely stop you if it detects an accident is likely.

I don't like the start and stop as I like to let my turbos cool down after a run.

The dash at night is again stunning, a real quality feel from VW.

Wheels look ridiculous, what size are they?

Not a fan of the seats either but I guess they're nostalgic; anyway, congrats on your shiny new car :)

Why thank you sir, they are the standard GTI 18's and I think they look brilliant, one of the best features of the car.
