I switched back to using GPS for speed after my sensor broke. I still haven't got around to replacing it.

It is a pain using GPS for speed detection. You need to pause the ride before going inside otherwise the GPS is all over the place and it keeps auto starting/pausing, ticking up the ride time when I'm sat inside.

On Saturday I forgot to resume the activity so I lost a 20mi chunk of the ride. I ended up hacking the data file and pasting in the missing section from my mate's data.

Set auto-pause to below 3kph.

I always use my GPS for speed, I only use the sensor for cadence.

I managed 26 miles over the bank holiday, which I was pretty pleased with, but I still need some bits for my bike before I start going further.

I've joined a local cycling group, and have my first ride with them next Sunday. I'm a little nervous as I've never ridden in a group. Also they're doing a 30 mile route, I'm a little worried I won't make the end.

I've been getting some pain in my feet, so I ordered some proper cycling shoes (I hope they fit!). I've gone for the Shimano R170.
I still need to get some shorts, but don't have a clue what brand/sizing to go for, I'd like to try some on first, but nowhere really local that I know of.

I've been trying really hard to pace myself better. My daily commute is only 5 miles total, but I tend to sprint that as fast as I possibly can. Mainly so I can get home quicker. The phrase "ride it like you've stolen it" springs to mind.
Anywho, I've now set myself a 16-18mph speed limit (obviously not downhill), and I'm increasing the mileage each days.

I'm still really pleased that I went with the Planet X Pro Carbon bike, although it's my first road bike so I don't have a lot to compare it to. I do miss cycling through the woods though, definitely going to have to look at getting a second hand MTB.

Any recommendations for a wheelset?
My 10 month old Campanargo Zonda wheels are worn out according to my LBS breaking surface is worn & rear hub shot.
This is along with my Ultegra cassette & chain which again is only 10 months old & done 4,000 miles.

Anything in the £300-£400 ish price bracket that can be recommended?

Finally had my Endura kit turn up for my charity ride in a couple of weeks.

Fantastic quality, and really good fit, not got any Endura stuff for the road, but going to give the bibs a go tomorrow to see how comfy they are! Really need them to be if I'm doing 250ish miles in 2 days up in Yorkshire! :D

@grudas - Fortunately I have a decathlon just a couple of miles away. I could pick one up and post it to you for less than their postage costs if you want!

thanks for the offer mate, but It won't really workout much cheaper plus the extra hassle for you..

Same chip and sensor as the one i linked to so i guess thats the combo to go for - the go pro rip off doesn't look very aero tho ;)

the thing with it is that it is compatible with gopro mounts, comes with waterproof case(very important) I'd be able to attach it under the bars which should give it a nice position for recordings!

the C1 is a nice bit of kit but add waterproof case and it's bigger and uglier than that.
