David Moyes disgracefully sacked

I am actually amazed it took Manchester United this long to sack Moyes :o, he and this season has been a disaster even from before a ball was kicked, however I am still amazed that Moyes was given the job in the first place.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United totally got the appointment wrong in the first place and the manner in which Moyes 'got' the job was a total farce.

Manchester United need to rebuild the squad and team.

Yes and that's fair enough, making suggestions of course it is. Undermining the manager though and rallying the troops behind his back is not.

And to be fair Jags is better than any of the United back four. Obviously Ferdinand thought he was at a point in his career where he had nothing to learn from a younger player.

I would take Giggs' opinion over someone who hadn't won a thing in his entire career.

You can't really teach Rio and Vidic how to defend now, they have been doing it for years and again, won numerous things whilst doing it. Jagielka's not even the best defender in his family.

I saw an interesting point mentioned, the excitement the fans are showing now is what should have happened shortly after SAF retired. It quickly became apparent Moyes was going to be handed the job and it was a 50/50 (at best) whether he'd struggle or not.

I think the majority of fans gave him the benefit of the doubt (we had no choice, really), but I don't think he was anyone's first choice, it's just something we had to accept. I remember saying I was looking forward to seeing how he'd set the team up, and now with a large budget, what players he'd bring in.

People thought the worst case scenario would be 3rd or 4th though, not 7th.

Not bigger, but better run, yes. He's not been there long so I can't see him leaving anyway.

I hate the phrase 'bigger club'.

Bayern are the current European Champions are are still in the Champions League, they have won their respective League comfortably and have a fantastically talented squad (that I'm sure any Manchester United fan would take in a heartbeat) and are managed by one of the best managers round (of whom many Manchester United fans pine for).

Manchester United are a successful club, however Bayern are sat firm at the top of European football. Bayern are also ahead of Manchester United in terms of the football rich list. Manchester United are fourth and Bayern third.

So, while the statement might be a bold one on it is not unfounded.

Except Sir Alex Ferguson's first choice? :p :o.

I think on your last point, that 'people' could be replaced with the Manchester United boardroom, this season has been disastrous for Manchester United, who see themselves (and their fans see the club) at the top of the English football.

At the time of choosing, he wasn't a fan. ;)

People, boardroom, everyone really.

Were they thinking originally it would have been cheaper?

Are you counting yourself as a fan this week?

Well then all that silverware he's destined to be a great manager.

As for the dvd we have no idea what he was showing him, it could have been something tiny. Perhaps he was just trying to get him to adapt his game like other older players have done so well and prolonged their game.

In my opinion you are never too old to learn and improve. Thinking he is and bigger than that is probably why he has stunk the place out the last couple of years.

Because when even I look back at it even though I support Liverpool it baffles me and I really got annoyed at Rafa due to the whole alonso thing so meh said it anyway :/

Why? Alonso was injured/not great the season before and we needed funds from him to move forward. As it turns out he was pretty great the next year. (Although not the reason we were so amazing despite what people will tell you)

Alonso left us in the **** in the summer and we ended up getting an injured player who was pretty good but barely played, getting rid of him was also stupid imo and should definitely have been tried to fit in.

I really hope you didn't want Rafa gone.

Someone who has been at the club for 25 years should have more of a say about the ethos of the club than someone that turned up 5 minutes ago on the back of building teams that are hard to beat. He couldn't even do that for us.

You're right, you're never too old to learn but I doubt Ferdinand and Vidic gave two ****s about that seeing as they both have a season left in them, if that.

Tbh I wanted Rafa gone and the owners the whole situation was a joke our club was getting battered from the inside, Rafa over all was a great manager for us but I felt we needed change granted didn't work out so I was wrong. That being said he effectively forced alonso out with the Barry saga wasn't entirely his fault but I pin most of it on him anyway this isn't thread for it all that matters is were moving forward now for the better :D there is one thing we can agree on every one knew moyes was there Roy Hodgson yet they didn't belive us well told ya so :p

He had to sell to buy and improve the club, Alonso was not good the year before and injured a lot of it do you not remember? Also Alonso had apparently fallen out with him over the Inter tie and Rafa saying he should miss his childs birth to play.

I think you're stupid to blame Rafa for the Alonso thing at all, his last season we went off the rails for several reasons and him not focussing was clearly one (thank god he was the first to realise what our owners were ***** and alert the fans or we'd probably be under a different name now.), wanting him gone at the end of that year though was incredibly ****ing dumb by any fans that were vocal of that, completely ****ed us up, thank god Brendan came along and is seemingly rather good.

Yeah you're right, thankfully we're moving forward and Rafa had a big role to play in that, hoping he'd be United manager is retarded, unless he purposefully ruins them

Tbf I didn't mean I hope Rafa goes to utd at all I was implying (poorly reading it back) how it would funny due to the hate utd fans have of him, just how I found it funny all the stick Chelsea fans gave him which was just stupid
