Hello,

Looking at upgrading my 64gb SSD, Need more storage going to go for a 250GB one.

Is the evo pro the best you can buy these days?

yes and no.

yes, if you do care about sequential speeds.

no, if you don't and want to save 35 quid by buying 240GB m500 or 20 quid by buying 256GB m550.

Word of warning I never received my cashback for my 840Pro. Other than that, at the current pricing the 250gb 840EVO is UNBEATABLE.

you need to ring them, thats the only way to get it,emailing wont work as they never reply

I got my cashback that way

no,within the deadline

id still try and get it if you didn't receive it though, aslong as you emailed them within the deadline and have proof ect

it can't.

no Pro-Consumer level drive uses TLC and there's a good reason for that.

that said, for gaming and general builds, given the price and performance, Evo is good enough.

if I was buying new today id pick the evo

I have the pro and evo and I cant tell any difference between them, even atto benchmarks look very similar in read/write figures

it has better quality nand memory

its upto you but you know how fast tech changes,if it were me id go with the cheaper evo

the crucial drives aint bad either,i only suggest the samsungs because I know they work well, ive only owned a crucial m4 and that was fine also, not sure what the newer m500/550's are like regarding reliability
