Ever vague in her description and answers to my questions my eldest daughter has asked me to get her some wood for her to use for her A2 photography project. The most I can gather from her is that it uses 'Liquid Light', a little searching tells me this is some kind of brush on emulsion.

Never having done anything like this myself and wanting to be the every helpful dad and making no sense of my daughters vague descriptions I now have to find out the following.

Anyone done this before and what is the best kind of wood for the job?

Thanks in advance!

I was intrigued and googled it, there's loads of info out there, can be done on any wood in theory, rocks, glass etc as well, seems a very trial and error process though

It seems so, some very good effects from different surfaces, she chooses wood. I guess my best option is to go to the local wood recycling yard, they have lots of odds and sods. Get her some different types and let her decide what looks best for the effects she is looking to get.
