Awesome names that you never call your kid

Names over here are awesome, as people just pick whatever English word they like. I've had students called Scar, Simba, Beauty and Horse - the latter being my favourite.

"Why horse, is it a translation of your chinese name?"
"No, it's because my friends say my face looks like a horse"

Even my wife's name, Yaya, brings much Rolling Stones related hilarity, though always makes me think Toure.

Seems to be pretty common in Asia or with Chinese / Korean people I have met epsecially when their name may be hard for English speakers to pronounce correctly. Usually it is the person who uses another name rather than being given the English name by their parents.

Easy one to understand was a Korean lady called Jin He calling herself Julie.

A more difficult one was a guy who called himself Lexus.

It took a while before I found out my wifes English name was not her legal name even though it was the name everyone refered to her with apart from her family... That was weird although I did also know her Chinese name so not quite as weird as it could have been :D.

At Uni I knew a guy called James Bond. English family so his parents knew exactly what they were doing. He hated it so called himself Jimmy to try and avoid people spotting it.

Worked with a guy called Junior recently. Not as in Jr something, his first name was actually Junior.

Know of someone called Bacardi Ann Coke too, but I think they changed that themselves, so crazy person rather than crazy parents.

My mum knows a family with 3 girls called April, May and June.

Glamour Serenity and Patience Peace, the names of the daughters of a Doctor I once worked with, are pretty awesome.

Should I ever have a son he will be called jensen. Middle name interceptor.

Sons mother allowing of course

Used to work with a guy called randy fox. American. Also used to have a customer called hacky minge. That was a bit of an odd one.

I went to school with a lad called Shannon. All through school the poor lad ended up on the girls register for PE. You'd have thought after the first year the school would have known better.

I've always liked names that aren't overly popular but should age well with the kids.

Not long ago I was in Peterborough Tesco, and this guy had a 5-6 year old with him, as they went through he went "Come on Reebok, come on"

I've met a King Lovett He was the king of lovein' it!

However if it were my kids and I got leave to give them the name:

Girls:

Shodan

Jinx

Boys:

Kyp

Wrex (If twinned brother will be called Shepard)

Phileas Isambard Quentin Pontus Aurelius Brown would be quite excellent as a name.

There was a student at the school I work at called Tiger.
