crossfire newbie, got a issue help!

Its fixed now, sorry about the late reply (slow internet) had to redownload and reinstall 3dmark, im getting double my score than I was with a single card now, not sure quite what was up with it, oh also iv updated to 14.4 over 14.3 cata, so either one of them has fixed my issue! haha

So now, I just need to find a good stable overclock, because with +20 power, my original card can clock 1100/1575 with ease, where as my second card iv just got crashes at that speeds, just did a run at 1000/1400 all is fine.

Also can I ask, whats a safe temp for a 7950? with a single card and my custom fan profile, was only really when benchmarking that the card got to around 75c, usually played at 70c in games, and at that temp my fans was set pretty much almost silent, where as now with two cards, my top card is hitting 80c and my fan sounds like a hoover!

Good to hear.

I'd like to think my bios tweaking had a part to play as well old boy. One of your cards bios TDP was really low, no idea why that was. :)

Safe temps for a 7950 are under 90C. If overclocking, try to keep at 80C or lower. For high overclocks, 1150 on the core or higher try to keep at 75C or lower.

With your cards i recommend lots of intake fans, more than exhaust. Set up a side exhaust fan or two on the side of your case sucking the hot air the gpu's dump out. If you setup positive pressure as i describe then you can also remove spare pci-e brackets around the cards to allow a place for the hot air to be naturally pushed out via the positive pressure. (more intake than exhaust fans)

Hehe, yep thanks again for the bios :) top man

Okay thanks for the advice, But also.. and ya might kill me on this one..
But I don't have a side panel on my pc, haven't used one ever, I have to blow all the dust out with compressed air every week though, but iv never used a side panel, so cold air and exhausting isn't a problem lol. also my house is very cold, don't have central heating, well we do but its never on, only a wood burning stove downstairs in the living room, doesn't heat this room. in winter I regularly have to wear gloves :D

Also this ulps thing, is there any disadvantages of having it turned on? iv just turned it on now, and for being on my desktop and windowed games like wow that I run in a window don't require full tilt at all, and its nice quiet and cool

Thanks :)

ULPS off with get you an extra 0-5% performance. Its not essential to disable it, just the preferred choice for some. Bonus is your second gpu turns itself off and uses zero power/electricity with it enabled. I can understand why some like it. Its a nice feature.
