can the police use your dashcam for proof that you were speeding?

And therefore committing perjury, perverting the course of justice and misconduct in a public office to name a few likely offences. Jail time would be all but certain.

And you reckon someone would do that to make it look like someone did 35mph instead of 30?

It depends on the circumstances really doesn't it? It's not like the police haven't ever lied in court now is it?

I had one confiscated and told that they would calculate the speed from it (it didn't show the speedo). In reality, they were too lazy to even watch the video and it was thrown out in court.

I heard on the radio this morning that all new cars will be fitted with rear view cameras by 2018. Why only rear view?

If you see the workload for most officers you'd realise that its nothing to do with being lazy.

So first thing to do with any dashcam is disable the speedo display? :p
Never knew police could essentially just "nick" personal belongings if they felt like it :/

It's more to do with being incredibility badly organised like most government run organisations, sadly.

I'm going to disagree with you on that one. The Police have many issues regarding their effectiveness but organisation isn't the biggest by any means.
