With Chelsea still in the Champions League and Premier League title race, that's hardly surprising.

It's not as if he's likely to come out and say that he's considering his options and he'll announce his future at the end of the season.

Not that I think he would leave Chelsea for Man U, but he's definitely not going to say anything else other than deny it at this point in time.

No, but he did say:

"Of course not.

"I don't know how anyone could think about it. I left Real Madrid specifically to come to Chelsea and I signed a four-year contract.

"I told Chelsea they never have to worry about me because I don't want to leave. So I will stay here as long as the club want me to stay.

"There isn't any job that would move me from Chelsea."

There's been lots of talk about Mourinho and Utd over the last couple of years. I think it's safe to say that at the very least Mourinho flirted with Utd in order to improve his bargaining position when talking with Chelsea. With him going back to Chelsea and everything that was said in the summer, the Utd ship has well and truly sailed for Mourinho.

I genuinely don't believe Utd ever considered him though. That said I never believe the Moyes talk either.
 
With a lot of supposed targets ruling themselves out it looks like they'll get van Gaal by default which will of course mean he is the new 'Chosen One', he should just be called 'The Only One'

I have no doubt his statement today is just mind games and he is in fact desperate for the job.

It's odd that there were rumours of Sir Bob of Charlton not wanting JM to represent his club but everyone seems thoroughly happy with the morally reprehensible Giggs at the helm.

Thats because Giggs is a club legend and wouldn't damage the clubs reputation as a football club. His issues were personal and noting to do with Man Utd. Mourinho is an underhand scallywag of a manager that doesn't care what he has to do or say in order to get what he wants. That in related to the club he manages.
 
The fact is why would ANY manager at any of these big clubs say they want to go to United? It'd be disrespectful to their fans and the board and Moyes who was just sacked.

RM like sacking managers so Carlo may be free in summer and wasn't Roman building the team for Pep but he went to Bayern so Chelsea had no choice but to get Jose back as he was pushed out of RM and they were managerless.

I think Fergie will speak to Jose and he'll have more control at United than he does at Chelsea.
 
Anyone seen the talksport LvG video? I dont think its a spoof, and if it is real I thimk LvG isnt goimg to be the new manager

I wouldnt necessarily buy into that. Have a good read on Graham Hunters book. read it a few times Shameless Book Link

Mourhinio has a lot of detractors and he was under consideration at Utd ;) Good insight into Barca and why Pep was appointed, Mourhinio was nailed on for the job and ultimately overlooked

The fact the story broke the day after it became impossible for MU to qualify for the CL makes me wonder if it was a financial thing - heard it rumoured they only have to pay out a year of his remaining contract rather than all five years if he failed to qualify for the CL.

Sven in you heard it here first :)
