Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

I like a lot of things about it....I will be getting it come release.

Reminds me of Wow a lot, but with elements I've enjoyed from other MMO's.

Look forward to playing it properly!

I can't see the appeal of this game. The start zones are the worst I've ever played, and no voice-acting for quests is just lazy.

The motion also seems weird. When you move, it's like you travel too far or the animation is just wrong.

Then go back and play ESO then?

If the starting areas are the worst you've ever seen then you're obviously fortunate to have only played AAA titles.

WoW does hardly any voice acting and look how successful that is?

Voice acting get's kind of tedious after a bit, there's only so many times I can stomach an NPC saying 'Put out some fires' or 'kill 10 rats' etc etc

Regarding the starting zones, are you talking about the first few levels before you reach the planet ? Once you touch down the world around you has tons of detail and life to see and explore.

At least your comments are subjectional which is fair enough, it took me a good few beta weekend's to get into the game but it's definately not for everyone.

Yeah but that game is almost 10 years old now and the people that play probably still play because they've hugely invested in it. Games are better than that now, and it's no excuse for game devs not to try harder.

Maybe I've just been spoilt by other MMOs that do include voice questing that it feels like a big deal to me when it's then missing.

I think it depends on how well it's done but I would rather that than the WoW style quests where people don't even bother to read the quest. Without a story it just feels like a rush to max level.

My main problem was the animation though. The game just didn't feel right. Maybe it's a personal thing, but to me the world felt fake. I'm not picking on the art style, it's similar to wow and some of the wow art is really cool. I'm on about how the game feels when you move around. What do you think?

Wow has never been on my radar, couldn't stand it couldn't get into it and also that it turned friends into zombies :p

Wildstar was actually hard to get into for me, surprising seeing as it's an NcSoft published game but after a good few sessions I really began to enjoy it. I'd have to say the combat is fantastic as it's fast, fluid and skill based like Aion or even Lineage. Movement in Wildstar doesn't feel out of place but it all depends on the class you play with them having quite different styles and approach.

There's definitely a lot of hidden depth to the gameplay, but more importantly it looks and feels like an MMo. I don't want to compare it to that other game as they are worlds apart but it certainly ticks more boxes for me personally.

Man i love this game, i am stuck on what i would like to do as a main. i will be going tank and since start of the betas i have been set on the engineer, because of this i havnet really played the other classes. i am thinking about a stalker as a tank i would like to know if any1 has played this role or been in a dungon with one. How do they play like, i done some pvp with him and sucked lol. Also how is the engineer tank.

I've got a level 21 stalker that I have been tanking dungeons with, I think its great. I like playing the stealthy rogue type in PvP but also like to go tank for shorter dungeon queues and more control of the run. So to be able to do both on one char is awesome.

Saying that though, I like my engi too! Think I will play both, but stalker will be main.

Are there any plans for an OCUK guild? Few friends and I are after a casual guild to level and chill with, maybe do some casual raiding.

Stalker is apparently the best tank in the game at 50, but bear in mind balance has been changing wildly and things will likely change even more by release.

I can't go much into detail about all the features yet but core features currently in for this test are:

a very large Lua-API
a integrated WebBrowser
a ChatBox (stay connected with other members! *yay*)
a detailed Object Tracking system

For this Beta-Weekend however, this is in for you:

SuperFly
SpeedHack (any speed possible, does not speed up other things)
JumpHeight
InfiniteDash
Teleportation
Object Tracking

I guess ESO isn't the only game with active hacks during beta ;)

Oh and there is also no Anti Cheat software running.

Used this all day today, every bit worked flawless, unlimited roll, super fly speed and teleport.

Was flying around just being a douche and having fun this is a great hack and the lua addons is amazing, this hack is going to be huge!

Currently 16 different functional bots, a very big and powerful bot being run by the guys behind Honor Buddy (This one has been running for almost 3 months+).

Also partly working emulator servers are working too.

You can definitely say botting and hacking is rife within this game already and its not out yet!

Latex why are you stooping to the same level as the guys who trolled the eso thread? Not worth it and just as it had died down.

Anyway gave it a whirl on the beta weekend just gone. I can definitely see the appeal but i just didn't enjoy the setting or art style otherwise wasn't too bad.

It was to indirectly point out that every MMO at all stages of its development have hacks and bots.

Their implication that ESO was unique in this was clearly just ********.

Lol, looks like someone doesn't know the difference between 3rd party botting program's and having your mod framework so open that in house mod program's can do basic botting.

3rd part bot program's were/are alive and kicking in eso, just like every single mmo know to man.... ( hmm, maybe wrong choice of word with alive, don't think anything can be described as alive in eso :p).

Carry on though latex, thread bumpage is always good :D

That's a lot of 'bots' for so early in development. Must be a lot more popular than I thought.

Havent played the beta, but watched a fair bit of footage.

Not really my cup of tea this one, I'm not particularly fond of Sci-fi MMOs anyway so it had to have some quite considerable hook to suck me in. However from the videos and streams I've watched I just havent seen any hook for me.

Some will slate the cartoony look, some wont. Its quite reminiscent of WoW in its art style, but I would imagine that will mean that it should run well on almost all systems. Its a little too colourful for my tastes, little bit too many bright/sparkly things going on, but aesthetics are always a very subjective thing. The main thing for me was that I just didnt see a hook which enticed me to play, seemed mainly things I have seen before.

So all in all, not one I will be buying, however I wish it all the best of success because the more MMOs which succeed the better and there's never anything wrong with having more choice of games, even if its not one for me, it will be one for someone.
