Mattress of amazon, good or bad idea?

Awww! I came in here hoping that someone had photoshopped the Matress of Amazon and that the thread was now degenerating into a torrent of abuse towards the OP.

GD isn't what it used to be. :(

Id recommend silent night entry level mattress, I paid £160 for mine and its best mattress ever had.

I bought a silentnight mattress 9 years ago and its only just in the last couple of months snapped a couple of springs. For £120 (half price from Argos) I can't complain for 9 years usage.

I'm looking into getting a pocket sprung version now.

Specs won't tell you how it feels, how hard the springs are, how bumpy it is, and the give in memory foam. The same specs will also vary between manufacturers. Specs won't give you advice either. You'd be a fool to just go by specs but if comfort doesn't matter to you then why not....

youre better off reading specs for memory foam because you should be checking the density of it. and you should use a memory foam topper not one in a matress.
most high end matress manufacturers wont allow you to return a matress until after 30 days because your body needs to adjust to it you cant choose a mattress based on a 5 min feel in a shop

I've spent soo much time today going round same shops, but I finally bought a mattress from a shop which was closing down. Got a good deal, so I'm happy :)

I've had a two mattresses in the last 6 months, and at first they seemed uncomfortable. After a few nights of sleeping on them, they got a lot better!

I could do with a new mattress; it's not such a bad thing, but whenever I try a few mattresses it seems the cheapo ones are my favourite, and that's trying them before I look at the price tag so that's not swaying me.

My plebeiness shines through.
