Got My New Audi A6

For those wondering why you have hill hold on an automatic, try stopping on a very steep hill - it can roll back!

That is correct dsg can and will role back on a steep hill.

@op: take the car elsewhere. I have two or three audi dealers/garages near me so I pick whatever I want. Eg I bought old cad from tamworth, sales team is good but booking services was a nightmare there. So I took it to leicester audi which is different group entirely.

To sum up: try another audi garage! :)

Hold assist on the VW uses the last known brake pressure to hold the car, not the handbrake, the handbrake is only active if the car has been stopped for a few mins.

Works really well on the flat too, stops DSG creeping the car forwards, it's a total pain when parking though, which is why i wouldn't want to activate the system unless you had a button to quickly turn it off.

Might be worth asking this guy about colour DIS:

Whatever happened to clutch control :(

I can't see me trusting a hill hold assist on a manual. Also sometimes I like to roll backwards without bothering with reverse gear.

I guess you have tried a car with it? There is little to dislike. Typically only hols for a few seconds anyway.

Iirc DSG didn't creep initially and was added in because people expected it in an automatic. I had a DSG without hill hold and found it a pain to make a smooth hill start.

Exactly, DSG is an automated manual with clutches, so it didn't creep in the way an automatic does. It only does so now for the reasons you state IIRC.

No, for better or worse. The torque converter in the Jag makes me uneasy enough letting off the brake and going for the accelerator..
I'm comfortable doing a bit of heel toe in the Golf's manual when required (rarely) and the rest of the time just using the clutch (obviously unless I'm using the handbrake!)

Maybe I'm just becoming an old man and disliking change!

DSG isn't a torque converter type automatic with the typical creep function that is being referred to...

Who is the incorrect person now then?

How many keys did you all get with your A6 C7? I have two, but apparently there should be a third plastic emergency key which fits in the door lock and starts the car by pressing it on the dash? I checked the MMI and it does say that there are three keys associated with my car. I have emailed the Dealer who told me there are only two keys with the A6 c7, but I think that's rubbish...so has any one else got three keys?

I got 2 normal keys and one black plastic one which does what you mentioned. This is the third key your MMI states.

Well, that was easier than I expected.... Poole Audi just phoned full of apologies and said they will sort out the keys and recode my car if I take it down to them, they will email me to let me know when the keys arrive. :)

Reading Audi may have claimed wear and tear :p

Yeah...I have heard some horror stories about them tbh since reading this thread...I would email or phone Audi UK with your complaint if I were you, they might be able to help you. They are an approved dealer after all so ultimately have to answer to Audi themselves. I certainly wouldnt accept that damaged console.

I have and had a pleasant chat to a guy from Audi UK today. They apologised for the service and were going to look into the matter. After reading about Poole Audi here I had given them a call with regards to the scratches and they were very nice and helpful... far more than Reading. I mentioned this to the guy from Audi UK as it was an example of the service I would expect from Reading.

If Reading had told me that it was wear and tear, but then listed my options and advised how they could help I wouldn't have been so annoyed. However it is their stance of "there is nothing we can do" is what has really ****ed me off
