Name that stingy thingy

Yes, I already have plans in place to kill it with fire as well as taking off and nuking from orbit as the only way to be sure, but can anyone put a name to this horrible thing?

There are lots of little ones, more 'honeybee' shaped than wasp shaped really. With a cylindrical body rather than define front and back end.

My auntie thinks it may be a mortar bee, they had some issues with them but got it sorted. I can't find a nest, they just appear to be buzzing around outside this and next door's front windows.

They aren't stopping very much, it was very difficult to get any sort of picture other than this one. Due to that it was also quite difficult to put in anything to give it scale. This thing was bigger than a 50p piece.

Yeah, looking at the pincers on the front and the overall shape, I would definitely say it is a kind of wasp.

It's a Japanese Giant Hornet, I can tell by the pixels, my old man has seen a few in his time.

I don't care what it costs. Someone else is coming around to my gaff and sorting this out. The window that godawful thing is at the top of is out of reach of any standard window cleaner ladder, so I'm not climbing up towards that bloody thing and potentially throwing myself off when it sets off!

Looks like a hornet. You said there's loads of little, more bee like ones around too? Hornets eat bees so they could have invaded a bee hive nearby.

The bees have only just been noticed as well, so hopefully they are a temporary thing, as is this horrible ****er.
