Audi S1 EKS RX

Wonder how this will be, in comparison to wifety's 1.2 TFSi......could be a decent upgrade?

I wonder how fast it is to 100mph ;)

600bhp from a 2.0 is no joke, it must have some turbo on it!

Not really epic numbers for a racing engine, a 1500cc Hart F1 4 cylinder engine (415T) from the 80's would make 750bhp in race trim, undisclosed in qualifying.

HOWEVER

I bet it is a hoot to drive :)

You missed out the part that it would need a full engine and turbo rebuild every race. This will last around 25,000 miles before needing such a build.

Hardly anything new, F1 race cars were producing 600bhp from 1.5l in the early 80's and by the end of the 90's around 1000bhp.

Car looks hideous, should be ideal for rallycross though.

Saw about 6 trailers for Albatec racing today who will be doing Jacques Villeneuves Rallycross car this year, couldn't believe how much gear they were transporting, obviously Rallycross is going to be serious business going forward, got some big names signed up this year.

You missed the part where it is a 25 year old engine (one of the worst at that) that has to last a 2 hour race, not a 5 minute race. Not a chance in hell a rally-x engine will last 25,000 miles between rebuilds, be lucky if it makes a 5th of that. (in racing)

;)

Yeah thanks to the aggressive development process of things like F1 the mass produced cars have improved massively and these tuner examples dont need massive budgets to get to relatively silly power AND useability.
