*** Official Nintendo Wii U thread ***

I still think I'll be picking up the Just Dance bundle and then Mario Kart separately. I already have 2 WiiMotion+ remote but they have the adaptors on them. It would be nice to get the new version with it built in.

Grabbed a pro controller, would have preferred a little cheaper, but £29.99 isn't too bad. They were £33 on Amazon the last time I checked.

Nice controller, rumble is a little weak, but other than that, I like it. Would have preferred a matte finish on it, but I guess they are just matching the gamepad and console.

The only thing is, there doesn't seem to be a way to turn on the WiiU without the gamepad coming on :(. Playing Donkey Kong at the moment, which I'm now playing with the pro controller, so it would be nice if the gamepad would just stay off.

Im now thinking about getting a Wii U for the exclusives as there is not much coming on ps4 for me now for a while

Exact same reasons why many Wii U owners are not bothering with getting a PS4/XB1 - there's just nothing to play.

Nintendo aren't famed for banging software out the door every week but even given that - it's still the more mature system with a fair few more AAA titles than the PS4/XB1.

I don't know how any self respecting gamer can possibly say no to a system that offers Zelda WW HD, Super Mario 3D World, and Mario Kart 8.

Donkey Kong.. I got a Wii u, couldn't stop playing donkey Kong.. prefect compliment to a ps4 a Wii u is imo. excellent machine , it's not a serious gamers machine, it's a family gamers fun time machine. My little girl loves the Wii u.

Agreed. tbh this has been the case with every generation since the nes. I can't understand how anyone would choose to miss out on Nintendo consoles fullstop!

Indeed

Ive always been for nintendo, i have a 3ds and use that fairly often but windwaker hd is calling out to me aswell as mario :)

Can all the games be used with the normal type of controller, pro is it? Or do some require the game pad etc? Probably changes on a game to game basis i imagine

Any plans for virtual console gamecube games?

You need to check the controller requirement for each game on Nintendo's website. If you want to play games like Wii Party, Nintendoland or dip into the awesome Wii back catalogue (Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 etc etc) then you'll need a wii remote - cheapest way is to buy Wii Party U as you get a wii remote in the box.

I'd recommend a pro controller too - not essential, but it's a really nice controller for faster action games.

Gamecube VC will come, patience is a virtue.

Nintendo includes, then removes, mention of “new Nintendo system” on E3 website
