I'm not in the market but if someone is paying £800 for a 4K monitor then they can stretch to 600 for an 8GB card. Other than that doubt too many would jump at that price.

For 4K its a good idea, but a 4GB AIB 290X is £380 to £450.

I guess it depends on Which one it is, and certainly the extra Vram is worth more, but if it adds £100 to the price. No.

To take out all the variations i think i would say 10 to 15% added to the cost of a 4GB card is reasonable, so a £400 4GB card might cost £450 for the 8GB one. if i felt it might be useful, yes.

For £500, voted no.

The thing is you'd need 2-3 of them to actually have the horsepower to drive north of 4gb in the first place. So £500 4k monitor and £1200-1800 worth of GPU.

Considering you had the 290X reference 4GB up for £319 including the 3 free games AND BF4 no you would be completely mad to pay £599 for a single 8GB 290X when for £40 more you could have had Crossfire 4GB's and still be fine with 4K with Hitman and others running 60fps on Ultra.

You know if only i had the PSU (Ax860i in sig) i would have wet myself to get Xfire 290X for £640 and sold two copies of BF4 and two copies of Thief. Not to mention the HON £30 of ingame currency i could have potentially sold my F2P account ive had since the Beta and had that ingame currency as well. I reckon when all would have been said and done i would have had both cards for £570 perhaps that is insane when the 780ti is £500.

Cest le vie as Delboy would say in his broken French lol.

No not personally, that price increase is to steep for a premium card. It's a weird position the gpu market right now, everything seems incredibly overpriced with the catch word 4k in the same sentence. Nvidia and AMD seem to be having a giggle with pricing by sticking 4k on the marketing spiel. I think anyone buying a card today specifically for 4k has more money than sense. 4k and building a rig for it Imo is a few years off yet. Might as well just stick to maxing out 1440p or 1600p.

Now if u do a 290x with 8gb and an aftermarket cooler for under 500 of my hard earned spondooleys, I might be tempted, but not at the stated price gibbo.

Nope, if i was to ever go 4k, (which i doubt) id prefer to wait till the next generation of cards.

Wayy too much of a premium. Lower the price some and it's a big deal. You have to think that if these are meant to be in 2-3-4 card set ups for 4k resolutions, the price needs to be a little more reasonable compared to the 4gb model.

Evga made the 6gb 780 50$ more than the 3Gb. That's reasonable
