Hi all,

Hiring a rug doc machine next week to clean a bedroom's carpet, and whilst I've got it thought I may as well deep clean my car interior (carpet and seats)... question is, to any of you who have done this before, which upholstery cleaning detergent should I go for?

Cheers.

Some places won't let you take it without either buying some from them or bringing some with you!

I'd just use vax stuff or whatever you can get too if you can come away without purchasing the really expensive mix

Hired one of these loads of times, never had to buy the detergent from the store -(Tesco, B&Q)

I have used generic carpet cleaers and I have bought the cleaning fluids that are made for it, and they did a great job on my vrs's white seats and carpets, dont bother with the anti foam, just use a little less detergent/common sense.

I cannot see how they force you to buy the stuff, I just turned up, entered the key combination in the padlock and walked out with it, without any staff interaction.

I've only ever taken one from a Morrisons - where they insisted it was bought when the machine was hired.

Wasn't really a problem tbh as I didn't have anything else at the time anyway.

I've a vax carpet cleaner now which is decent enough, but not as good as the likes of the Rug doctor efforts
