Read the article where it states that the majority of halal meat is from animals that are stunned beforehand.

I agree that until it is 100% then there is a ethical reason not to eat at a Halal Subway.

How is stunning an animal, rendering it unconscious instantly, less humane than slicing open it's throat and letting it bleed out it agony ?

If you've ever been stabbed with a sharp smooth knife you'd know the cut doesn't hurt.

If you slice the main arteri the animals blood pressure drops within seconds causing the animal to be unconscious.

We've covered this. It's not technically Halal if the animal is conscious during the throat slitting. But if some Muslims want to bend their own rules then I'm actually fine with that. The problem is, when you buy Halal meat, how are you meant to know whether or not the animal was stunned ? The only way to be sure if you disagree with the practice, is to boycott all Halal food.

You've obviously never seen a video of a person or animal having their throats slit. I have and I can tell you it's not pleasant. It's self evident that they suffer greatly.
 
So many jumping on the boycott subway wagon.

I would have more concerns over whether any meat I purchase is UK grown and slaughtered.

Which the majority of the UK population simply don't.

There's a difference between simply having ones throat slit and being killed by Halal. Halal slaughter concentrates on hitting the main arteries to hasten death. You don't die very quickly at all from just having your throat cut.

The animal meat industry is a horrible, cruel and inhumane process. Concentrating on method of slaughter misses the vast bulk of this. Though it does provide many with a reason to moan about the muslims.

But then it isn't halal. And the ethics are that a duality between providing only pseudo religious blessed meats while excluding all others.

They didn't have to remove bacon to be able to sell 'halal' meat. Surely asda sells both in the same Isle and the muslims I've seen seem to buy anyway. ..

The problem is because it's associated with muslims/islam and that's the only reason.

No one cares that animals are stunned and shot in the head.
