185 stores out of 1700, this would suggest that they are only rolling out the changes to areas where the demography suggests it will be successful, namely areas with large population of sandwich loving Muslims.

But they're not forcing anything on us are they? If you don't want to eat there then don't, they're not forcing you to eat the food served there. Subway said they had a 'strong demand' from people for halal meat so guess what they did, they responded to this demand with supply. Genius!

I wasn't comparing with halal meat, simply refuting your "they wouldn't let us express our lifestyles in their own country" line.
And I, personally, hold the UK up to much higher standards than I do other countries - I expect that, as (IMO) the greatest country in the world, we should welcome others with the courtesy and tolerance becoming of our status.
They can all eat in the thousands of independent asian run KFC copy-cat outlets. If they feel that strongly they are very well catered for already.
