Teacher stabbed to death at Leeds high school

Topic kicking off on LBC again. Sick of the mouth frothing that goes on after such tragic events such as these.

Sports are just as much entertainment as any other game.

That's just not true.

'Sporting' activities release adrenaline and endorphins, natures own 'feel good' drugs.

Not just that, they provide a 'real' sense of achievement, physical gains are visible.

Playing sport WILL make you more attractive.

Feeling low or depressed? Put the games down and go for a run. ;)

They also leave you in a mess physically when it goes wrong. I've been lucky not to lose my job due to some of the injuries I've picked up playing football and the subsequent time off work.

As tragic as this is, the media blaming video games once again for the kids actions is just mind boggling. I'd say BS, and more than likely to do with deep routed mental health issues suffered through neglect from family and being outcasted and bullied by other pupils in school, that topped with not getting the help needed led to these actions.

Sports aren't the only thing to release adrenaline or endorphins. So does a rollercoaster or a horror film.

Highly subjective. That completely depends on whether people enjoy playing sports.

Again, highly subjective. Not everyone is after someone who is ripped.

That's one way to do it, but not the only way. Sometimes just visiting friends playing xbox will do that too.

when you next clutch a 1 v 5 for your team in a computer game that can win you money come back and tell me you didn't get a rush. (from those same chemicals you speak of)

how many people get to do that though compared to the amount who can exercise at any time daily?

even without money involved, being on a tem and winning against another organised team after a rather hard and lengthy match you do get a good rush.

not the point he was suggesting that you can't experience good feelings in computer games which you can. Whilst yes not everyone gets to play for money that rush you get when you beat your opponent through skill is the same on a computer as it is with a football on a pitch.

+1 this comment

hmmm never experienced same feeling of satisfaction or release of endorphins on a game than I have after a grueling gym session, each to their own though I guess
