The girl I sit next to at work has effectively run away from home and has been cut off by her family because she was forced into an arranged marriage and left it.

now her boyfriend is Bangladeshi so his family won't accept her as shes Pakistani.

She told me she'd be happy to be a second wife if he needed a bangladeshi wife to appease hia family.

It's all quite tragic.

They aren't all like that. and a lot of their values interms of family are good Religion is always bad doesn't matter about your origin or skin colour it's always a problem for some people as it breeds ignorance.

Religion trampling the values of secular people again. Wow. I never saw that coming. I always check the packaging of my food before I buy it. Halal products have little symbols on them, if I see them, I just put the food back on the shelf.

only if its marketed as halal a lot of "normal meat" is actually halal as its cheap. it isnt a requirement to have the symbol

I would suggest you look it up yourself.

"Without compassion for misery or suffering; cruel:"

"Origin

late Middle English (in the sense 'inhuman, brutal'): originally a variant of inhuman (rare after 1700); in modern use from in-1 'not' + humane (the current sense dating from the early 19th century)."

To kill an animal for food is therefore not necessarily inhumane if compassion for the animal is considered, and no unnecessary misery or suffering is inflicted on it.

Also, human beings are omnivores and the term inhumane will have originated from the fact that humans have the ability to feel compassion, perhaps more so than other less intelligent animals (i.e. in - human, see above). However, it is very human to kill animals for food as we are omnivores and have been doing it our whole existence.

So no, you look it up.

:)

Look it up again, but this time when you're on Google click either "more" or the large downwards pointing arrow so that you get the complete definition rather than the one that's convenient for you.

That is the oxford dictionary definition.

So why don't the outraged masses go into each and every subway that has taken bacon off the menu and try ordering ham/bacon? They would soon get the message if one after the other tried ordering it.

As for Halal meat, most abattoirs do NOT stun as they would be shunned by the imams.

I think what you will find is that the themes in that anecdote are not uncommon within these communities and are certainly symptomatic of the culture and religion itself.

There is more to the definition of inhumane than the one you listed.

I am sorry but that is the definition whether you like it or not.

The singular act of killing an animal for food with no other context is not inhumane. You are wrong.

That is why, by definition, there are humane and inhumane ways to kill an animal.

You can **** and moan all you like but you will still be wrong.

Is the fish halal too? That would be funny...

If you want a decent sandwich make your own at least you know what went in. Wrap in clingfilm after you insert bacon and enjoy for lunch. Anything on the high street is junk Subway were big on salt too a while ago werent they.
