The same time I bought mine, too. That was a cracking price for the card.
Look at prices these days it was a total steal. The Nvidia 295GTX was about £40 more.

A cool card, I'd get one if i had more money than sense, but unfortunately despite my lack of sense i've also got a lack of money! (probably due to the lack of sense)
1080p gamer here...
So... nope![]()
14 said yes, so I look forward to seeing what those 14 people think of it![]()
Running with a 1060MHz core clock and with memory clocked at 5600MHz makes this card absolutely perfect for a 4K setup, even more so with a pair or three of these in Crossfire.![]()
Seriously ?![]()
Yes.
Reviewers have proven to truly enjoy 4k a pair is ideal, but you might hit the 4GB VRAM limit in some games, with 8GB you won't have an issue.
If I was building a state of the art 4k gaming PC I'd rather three of these cards than say a pair of 295 X2's as three cards is proven to be the most efficient crossfire setup as the 4th card never adds a huge amount more performance and with the 295 X2 you still have the 4GB VRAM limit.
Hey Gibbo, my point being that even with 2 of the highest end cards its only *just* enough for todays games, and makes no sense what so ever even in the mid term, 8gb of ram hardly future proofs you for a 4k setup, in fact in all the reviews ram was not often a limitation but more the raw power of the gps that are avaliable to date.
You could use 3 or 4 GPUs.![]()

This.
Yeah i know , but then you're choice limited, everyone seems to fixate on the latest benchmark game, recently its been BF4, its really not the only game out there, there are MANY other titles that people play that dont scale well at all in Crossfire or Sli but are still heavily GPU dependent.
In honesty, one 290 on its own will manage with 4K and 2 will be great but if you want all the bells and whistles, you will need 3 as a minimum and of the 8GB variant. I would love another Titan and will see what the MM brings in June time and that should see me settled for a couple of years but for those that like AMD and are going 4K, there is plenty of choice![]()
