Best Video Cards: April 2014

I agree here , i dont see how the 770 is regarded as being value for money , as said above the 280x/7970 is a FAR better card in every respect.

:p

My reputation precedes me, but even the staunchest Nvidia users will have trouble arguing against that statement.

It's not even about loyalty, it's simply just a bum deal. I have no idea why anyone would willingly choose a GTX770 full stop. The GPU itself is okay, but the 2GB of RAM and memory bandwidth just make it a bad choice.

Hmmm this still hasn't helped me decide on a 770 or a 280x. Other reviews point at a 770 being better...

The 770 only has 2GB of RAM and a 256bit memory bus, regardless of what it compares to in terms of GPU speed, that should be enough to discount getting one NOW based on their price, they are very expensive considering the two above points, which will get in the way of longevity when it comes to resolution and turning up memory bandwidth consuming settings, such as AA, or high resolution textures.
