MSI R9 290 BF4 Edition Watercooling

Got my full cover block and backplate for my R9 290 and my 360 triple fan rad last night so drained my loop and fitted. Just waiting for the angled fittings that i forgot to order to arrive in the next 30 min from my friendly DPD driver Matt. Thought I'd share a few photos of how i left it last night

Why not put the 360 in the roof?
Get some extension cables as well

So yesterday got the fittings i was waiting for and installed and leak tested etc and now it is up and running.

Very nice what's the 290 like?

Seems to handle everything i chuck at it apart from youtube lol. Seems a few other people have the problem with the graphics driver crashing when switching from high performance programs and then watching youtube and the driver crashes. Hopefully ccc ver 14.4 which i will install tonight will fix it.

Why not put the 360 in the roof?

It is, 240 in front 360 in roof. With get another sp120 at some point but i've spent enough this month already

Can I suggest you buy some Bitfenix cable extensions It would make that rig even better.
(That's what I did, bought 4x 6+2 pin pci-e, 1x 24pin and 1x 8pin cpu all in white, looks amazing)
other than that, sexy block there!

I'm gonna wait for a bit and do that when i've got a new mobo and cpu (currently running Phenom 965be @ 4.2) as the previous setup i had was a blue theme and i only needed one pci-e connector. When the mobo is black/red i will rebuy them all

and some red ram. But cheers for the recommendation.

Or just grab some MDPC sleeve and sleeve them yourself

Yeah would definitely upgrade the CPU/MB next or your 290 might just fall asleep!

Driver crashes on hawaii seems to be from unstable core. up gpu core voltage a bit and see if you still get driver crashes.

Upped the voltage by .050 and no difference so now upped to .100 had a few flash player crashes but the gpu still going. Hopefully wont crash on FM2014 tonight.
