Hi guys,

Looking for a gaming PC that will last me a good few years. I have an SSD and all other peripherals so it's just the actual computer I need to spec out.

So far I'm thinking: I7-4770k, GTX 780, 16GB RAM & 2TB storage (internal/external), 750W power and some funky case that protects against dust.

Can anybody help me out and spec this for me? I'd like to possibly drop in another 780 a lot later on to increase the lifespan of my machine.

Thanks.

So... tbh, I don't usually spec Nvidea cos I'm a bit of an AMD fanboy, didn't realise just how expensive they are :P

just over £400 takes up a good amount of your budget... then take in to account over £100 for 16GB of RAM, Over £200 for the CPU and over £100 for a PSU that will power two GPU's... that pretty much takes you to £1k without everything else :P

I did my best...

Ah ok, I will probably do that then. Any ideas when? Few months or so?

Also, I'm going for Nvidia because I'd love to see how Physx works. Never had anything but AMD cards.

Pretty sure OCUK had Z97 motherboards up unless I was dreaming :p Seems they were taken down, so no pre-order anymore!

The haswell refresh and Z97 chipset is on the way soon. Not worth buying Z87 now.

So true,

best bet, if your going to be using the system primarily for games.. I would wait and get the new cpu/mobo, go for a cpu in the i5 range that is 'k' and overclock it with the new boards, instead of using an i7 for gaming.

This would save you more money for the GPU.
