Pictures have emerged of what is expected to be a heavily customised Android phone:

It is to expected to have a 3D interface, unique gesture controls, a 4.7-inch 720p display, quad-core Snapdragon processor and 2 GB of RAM.

Looks ok, the front remids me of an S2. Wish the home button was bigger as S2 to S3 showed.

I really hope that's the gallery and not the menu or home screen!

edit: after looking at in some more, it's almost a cross between an iphone 4 and a Samsung galaxy s2.

I'm surprised it's taken this long, if you are tied into amazon, and have an amazon tablet, an amazon phone makes perfect sense.

Wish more phones had that. There discrete enough and should make repairing/recycling easier. Than gluing everything together.

Unless it's all glued together anyway.

This, even has screws at the bottom just like the Nexus 4 did, flash looks similar too.

I reckon its a rebadged Nexus 4. Looks way too similar, glass back, rubbery platic edge, same form factor. As you mentioned open screws. 720p screen.

Or at least it'll be made by LG.

But will it have google apps ? Will it restrict competitors? (eg netflix?) will apps on Amazon store be kept up to date? (I've read they tend to be a version behind).

Looks very nice, quite a lot like a windows phone!

Reminds me of the front of the S2 mashed together with the iPhone with a touch of the N4.

As for software I suspect this to be very similiar to the Kindle's OS.

Sim free I would imagine, it's just going to be a phone version of their tablets.

Hmm... that's what I was afraid of. I think it is even more important with a phone that users have access to the Google Play store, and of course to G-mail.

If they 'customise' the interface in a similar way to their tablets then I reckon they will immediately alienate a lot of potential customers, although there are probably have enough Amazon 'fanboys' around already for that small detail not to worry then unduly!

True... unless of course it was a significantly 'better' phone, and available at a significantly lower price than those offered by the 'opposition'.

And they only do things cheap becuase it's tied into their eco system. Effectively making it subsidised.

Looks swanky. I wonder how the head tracking infrared cameras will work. It sounds like parallax on steroids.
