What's the best budget tablet £100-£200?

I have a Nexus 7 (2013) and it good. I am now thinking about getting a Dell Venue 8 Pro as it is x86 and runs Windows 8. I have seen the 64GB version for less than £200 on the Dell outlet.

Depends what on your needs. Personally I bought a nook HD+ as it has a 9 inch screen and expandable storage. Once flashed cyanogenmod on it it was really good.

I'd wait now personally. the new Nexus tablets are sure to be hitting the market soon, meaning the current one is going to bomb in price.

Personally I think tablets are awful unless you don't have a pc/laptop handy.

Slow, clunky, not as easy to use, opening web pages is all over the place some load fine some the text is so small you then have to constantly zoom in after every click.

Media is the only thing they are good for, reading PDF's, watching videos or streaming (netflix/sky go).

I would only buy one if you plan on doing the above otherwise a laptop is the much better option. So many people have tablets which just sit there and get used once every 3 weeks.

Nexus 7 - I have a 32GB Lte version and the screen resolution is good enough that I don't need to zoom in on 99% of websites. I do all my web browsing in the evenings, YouTube, email, tv shows and movies in bed etc on it. Wouldn't be without it now.

Top end of the budget but I opted for a 32gb Toshiba Encore Win8.1 tablet. 8" screen is a good comprise between phone (Note 3) and Pc. Windows 8 also means there is a lot I can do with it I simply wouldn't normally be able to do with Android or IOS

Make sure you uninstall mcafee lol.

I got given one for a project a few days ago - which had McAfee installed - was constantly using ~50% CPU for no apparent reason and killing battery life not to mention making it appallingly slow.

Quite impressed with the encore for what it is - the CPU performance is on par with the old Core 2 Duo E6300 give or take - a little faster in some stuff due to having 4 cores v 2, memory runs about twice as fast as the memory on systems with that CPU used to have.

GPU is a bit of a let down comparative to the CPU being somewhere around the old 6800/7600 similiarish to xbox360 performance though capable enough for older games.
