290 Tri-X with a 2500k, what FPS should I be getting?

Hi,

Got my self a 290 Tri-X and its sitting with my 2500k, just at stock speed atm. Was wondering what kind of FPS I should be getting for a game like Battlefield 4? It seems pretty disappointing at the moment getting highs of 60 FPS on ultra, but it can sink in the red to 40 rather often.

Wondering if its my CPU that's limiting it? Or am I just expecting to much from the 290? Btw am running at 1080p!

Have you turned mantel on.
It will take a bit of the work load off the cpu

Didn't know I had to! Thought it was already enabled when I installed the 14.4 beta drivers.

I am very impressed with it on Crysis 3 however, can't tell the FPS on ultra but it seems smooth enough!

This, i have an old Phenom II x6, Mantle doubles my Min FPS, it never falls below 80 on Ultra. (Minus post AA which i turn off as it blurs the image)

It is enabled, you need to turn it on in game with BF4 though, then you need to restart BF4.

Very much this, should hit at least 4.2GHz by only changing the multiplier.
