Bad taste fancy dress

Listen going to some areas of the reeperbahn late at night is dodgy, going there which is the ultra left St Pauli area and I can guarantee you get a kicking if you are stupid enough to wear nazi uniforms. Then you'll get arrested and probably get another kicking for your trouble, then you will be charged as it is illegal to display or wear nazi symbols.

But go for it.

Wearing a Nazi SS costume in Germany isn't remotely on the same scale as the 9/11 costume in some crap northern nightclub.

Other alternatives: hip hop club in LA dressed as a KKK member, **** up in Mecca (bring your own I think) stag dressed as Mohamed, stag party as IDF members....

How exactly would you dress as mohammed?

A black guy with a turban?

surely every black guy who wears a turban gets ****** and beaten when he goes to mecca then?

An SS uniform? Haha. You will find yourself in a lot of trouble. Section 86a of the German criminal code forbids the use of any symbols which represent any unconstitutional organisation. Funnily enough the SS is, or was, one such organisation which is now considered unconstitutional.

I would not be surprised if you found yourself arrested.

*edit* Just noticed OhEsEcks posted a link about it as well, must have missed that one.

Never ceases to amaze me how some people will come on here with such a monumentally stupid idea that normal people could not even fathom as being sensible; yet these posters will be oblivious to the consequences of their actions.

Perhaps you should pay a visit to Auschwitz and see just how distasteful this would be. Personally I think everyone should go at least once in their lives.

I read the thread title and instantly thought of that BBC story and posted.

Having read the thread properly I agree with you, it's evidently not a good idea by any stretch...

I personally don't see a problem with it. We've been making light of the Nazis for decades. However, it isn't acceptable in Germany and you will likely get stopped.
