Better not quote Churchill any more.

Man quotes 18th century text over megaphone without a permit for public address.

Man is resistant to dispersal order.

Man is later arrested for racially aggravated crime.

Non-story.

Only in the UK :(

Only in the UK would the forces dealing with him be so fair-handed.

From the top of google

"Liberty GB are a quite clearly slightly bonkers Libertarianfar-right party from the UK, who it seems are attempting to out-UKIP the actual UKIP."

But anyway, you can't go shouting down religions and cultures like that, on a megaphone, in a public place, where people of those religions and cultures can hear you, without consequence.

Did you know this person existed before this happened?

It achieved its purpose then.

Tell me exactly what you took from this article to say "better not quote Churchill anymore"

Use your brain and stop poisoning the world with your misguided ****.

With some of the thread titles on here sometimes I'm sure we have some DM "writers" in disguise posting.

Only in the UK would the forces dealing with him be so fair-handed.

And in the USA the police wouldn't do a thing ;)
You used to be able to say what you like years gone by, I used to watch loads of them
on small stands preaching every religion outside a church in brum city centre.

If anyone thinks their god is upset please give me her phone number and I will call and ask.

Outrageous.

You edited this in. What, exactly, is outrageous about it? Is it the fact that he didn't get attacked? The fact that he was allowed to go on speaking whilst the authorities had it reported to them? The fact that they actually went fact-finding about occurrences ahead of approaching him? The fact that they spoke to him at length before arresting him, giving him an opportunity to cease and desist?

Or the fact that an overtly racist man was in a position to move around at will in society in the first place?

Inflammatory thread title is deliberately inflammatory. A more realistic thread title would be "better not spout outdated criticisms against an entire religion in public without a public speaking permit"

So if he DID have a public speaking permit (what are these anyway, sounds draconian), what would the consensus have been.

I know churchill had a few tart sayings, but nothing bad enough to get arrested.

Since when has a permit been required for this? Last time I checked you could use a megaphone in a public place. Of course there are limitations on what can be said.
