24: Live Another Day

I'm looking forward to this new season, but not got my expectations too high if the last 2 seasons were anything to go by. I think the series went downhill when they tried to make an issue out of the torturing for information. It was probably around the same time there was controversy about Guantanamo Bay.

Sky showed it at the same time as it was broadcast in the US (1am on Tuesday morning). They're repeating it at 9pm tonight. From next week it's only on at the Wednesday 9pm timeslot.
 
Well, after the first two episodes i'm a little disappointed. It's just copy/paste from all the previous seasons with very little to differentiate itself. Yvonne Strahovski is good though, and as a bonus she can also be seen in the new season of Louie, which is hilarious so far.

I had no idea they were doing that. I didn't hear anything about it at all.:(

Oh well, will try and catch it tonight, hopefully.
 
It does "seem" more of the same, but what we will get is more pace as its half the show it was before, so no dragging parts, and filler shows, no random family member getting in the way to fill up time etc.

Love to see Audrey have a complete mental breakdown again seeing Jack back lol
 
I liked the first two episodes... I am a simpleton so dont get involved in things to much I just try and enjoy the viewing...

the one thing that is bugging me is some of the american actors they have drafted in... the drone pilots acting when what happened, happened was just aweful... sounded like he lost a puppy not did what he did.
 
I'm also new to the series and echoing what others have said earlier. I'm looking at watching several seasons from the start, but which ones are completely missable? Since I'm looking at watching it for fun, don't want to watch a season that will annoy me so much that I stop watching, I can just read spoilers in that case.

'Generally' season 1-5 are the better ones, with 5 probably the best of the lot. I remember season 6 been quite good with some real thrills (especially in the first 4 episodes) but the last 6 episodes weren't that good. Season 7 and 8 are worth watching but not as good as the good old days.
 
I thought it was a reasonably good start to a new season. Initially did not seem like a 24 episode I think due to the change in location (but is nice to have a different setting than previous outings.)

Or just mix it up - pretty much any episode from any other season is interchangeable :P start with removing anything which has Jack's wife in, any scenes in which kim actually speaks and any with audrey and your onto a good start (probaby missed some other annoyances but its awhile since I watched 24).

TBH quite liking this new one, doesn't quite have the grab of 24 in its prime but its fairly watchable with a fair bit of promise thats keeping it atleast interesting enough to want to find out what happens next.
