My dad uses Word a lot for work along with Excel a tiny bit and I now need to use Word a lot myself for a course im currently as im getting a bit tired of the formatting issues with Libre Office.

Is the Office 365 Home for £79.99 per year the best way to go? From looks of things it would enable us to have office on his laptop, his iPad and my desktop.

If there's a better way please do tell :)

Thanks

At the moment I own a copy of Office 2013 (well own two copies - one covering my machine and one covering the wife's and her laptop).
Going forward, I'm certainly going to be looking at 365.

That would only be for their own use and they have to uninstall it when they leave that company. If you're not entitled to it you may as well just get an iffy copy from somewhere as you're still not licensed.

Office365 seems the best way to go generally, full modern office and all the updates for 5 devices for less than £8 a month can't be bad considering what you're getting although of course there are free productivity suites. You'd spend more than that on a couple of coffees and a sandwich.

Go with one of the older office versions tbh. The newer office either has [even more] annoying online activations or a subscription. The older ones do pretty much the same thing, all that's changed is the interface and the price :/

I never had any formatting problems with open office, you could try that. It's free and a lot less bloated than MS office.

Not sure the course you're on but if you have access to an academic email address then you can get Office for £60 for 4 years.

Definitely look at the student package. I'm in my final year and signed up at the start of the year on the £60 deal. Means I have 3 more years of office updates on my Desktop, Laptop & phone. It includes 2 mobile licenses as well.
