Japfest 10/05/14 Castle Combe Circuit

I'll be there. Probably coming up with a friend who finishes nightshift at 8am, so won't be a very early start.. hoping traffic isn't too bad! Hopefully weather forecast improves too, not great at the moment.

I am going.
Not with MX5 Nuts though as they want to set off at something like 4am.
I am visiting a friend in Bristol, then stopping over Saturday night.

To those who have been to Japfest....what time should I plan to get there?
I have only ever been to Japfest 2!

I ll be there. Aiming to arrive about 11 ish. I'm in no rush to arrive with the huge traffic jams from the last two years.

I heard the traffic is bad.
From that thread several months ago on where do OcUKers live I think you are literally a mile or two from where I am.

How bad is the traffic? AA maps is saying 109 miles/125 mins ignoring the Bristol pickup.

I live right next to OcUK.

5 minute drive from junction 15 of the m6 too so nice and convenient. Not sure if we're going down in the S or the MX5 yet.

Ahh I am Longton so must have you mixed up with someone else then!
I would like to go down in the mx5, but whilst I love it (she is in for a paintjob soon!) the Focus will do just fine for all motorway.

Traffic is always bad, it was better in 2013 than it was in 2012 iirc. They took a lot of bashing on traffic management one year as it was truly shocking so they have no taken steps to better manage the traffic.

If you want in at open then you need to be there early, probably a couple hours. Me and my mate intend to travel down at around 4-half 4 as its a 2 and a bit hour journey and we will stop for food part way and want a steady drive.

I prefer getting in early and seeing everything, then leave a bit before the masses.

Heading down in my friends new Fiesta ST2, certainly beats travelling in my Fiat :P

Unfortunately not going to be there :( Too far for me to go for one weekend really!

A lot of people from UKSO (Starlet Club) are going down, something like 120 starlets all convoying down to this! :D

I went a couple of years ago and don't remember the traffic being too bad - but we must have went fairly early and left just after lunch time. Might go to the knockhill version in July but won't be going to Castle Combe.

Was on ok day but the only real memory I have of it is a heroic Primera driver skelping everyone else on the track sessions and managing to recover some huge lift off oversteer.

Oh hello, who are you then? :p

I was wanting to go down, but if I go to any JF, I'd want to go onto track. Would prefer some oil temp and pressure gauges before I do though! And a RARB

10m from my house but I think I've grown out of it. I enjoy the track stuff but don't really care about standing around pointing at shiny bits and JDM oil caps. Think I'm just getting old.
