Grab the games if that's what you want. :)

Both will run very cool, and very quiet. Gigabyte has better customer service when it comes to rma, though.

I would buy for whatever hardware+features I thought was best not free games from either.

What case do you have as they blow hot air all over the place not exhaust it?
 
I'd pick the Gigabyte, if it fits in your case. The 770 is a faster card, and you will be able to make it even faster by overclocking. Even though Mantle is coming, it still has some way to go and its impact won't be as high on high resolutions and ultra settings.
Gigabyte also has a UK RMA service.

I have a cooler master CM 690 at the moment currently running with a 6950 so looking to upgrade that. The current card doesnt seem to have any issues for the past 3 years so I should be ok with the new card.
 
Thanks for the input. I think if I am honest I am not making the leap to 1440 just yet and I am happy with my setup atm so might hold off for 12 months or so and just get a new pc then.

I dont suppose there will be much between them given that they are the same sort of price would prefer the AMD games I suppose rather than watchdog but not a biggy if the Nvidia card is better what do OcUk people thing?

Yeah i read that and was thinking about getting the 770 but its only marginally better than the 280x so I just wonder what other people thought. I dont buy a lot of games so the games would have probably swayed me to the AMD card if i am honest since there are some nice games in that list I am yet to play/own.
 
then i would say 280X.
on top of Mantle and the bundle, the AMD cards keep value longer and resell easier and faster, mostly because of miners that buy them by the dozens here in france >.<

The 770 is not marginally better at all. The 280X is the faster card. It has voltage control and will overclock further generally speaking. Look at the bench threads, the 7970ghz/280X reigns supreme over 770's in everything more often than not.
