Japfest 10/05/14 Castle Combe Circuit

Drove past today. They've got all the roadsigns up etc. for all the unwashed masses to find their way.

Once again though it appears to have some great planning. Japfest is being held on the same weekend as Badminton Horse trials. Genius right there. Going to be complete traffic nightmare again probably with the two busiest events of the year for both venues being held on the same day.

Jap Fest reminds me of Chester Zoo.

LOL :D

Well look who I saw today! The whole crew were there.they went on track. Must be for a future episode

Drove past the glanza / starlet convoy earlier on way back from work. They all pulled into the services together was pretty crazy the size of the convoy

Well I was stood just in front of the Coffee & Dounuts store in the last photo ;)

Went with the S2ki owners club, the drifting alone was worth the entry fee

Went a few years ago. Took me about an hour and a half to get in, unorganised parking, then double the time to get out. The fact it was raining didn't help much but I really didn't enjoy it that much. The best bit was watching idiots on track trying to show off and then going off. Doubt I'll both going again.

I got there at around 11.15 and by the time I had parked and got in it was more like 11:45.

The weather did dampen the spirit a touch, as the mud was pretty bad and I saw a few kids go flying! If it had been sunny I'd have stayed way past 3PM :).
I had a lovely wrap from some Mexican food stall, but then dripped sauce all over me :p.
I enjoyed the event and there were certainly no shortage of Japanese cars, oddly very few <10 years old though.

Was it worth £18+postage per ticket? Crap parking and a colossal amount of chavs smoking weed makes me think not. As MilanoChris said there is amusement in seeing novice drivers on track spin off.
I am glad I went the once though as there was plenty to see, but if you walked round it is very much a 'one-and-done' affair.

yea agree with you on the round once and thats it.

its so big now its hard to get a decent spot at the side of the track to watch the drifting.

I still enjoy looking around though, a few nice cars to look at plus plenty of crap to laugh at.

ill upload a few pics I took on my phone, nothing special.

Was good seeing the topgear boys there filming an episode. They went on track too.

I had planned to take my supra down to this with a friend but i had an MOT the same day and my friend canceled anyway. A shame as i enjoyed it last time.

That integra crash looks nasty, looks as if he was waiting on turn right, probably too far over.

nah it's not mine, stole the pic from facebook

as said I'd say he was waiting to turn right a little too far over or the jag cut the corner

"Fresh import last week, coming around a tightening bend, ventured a bit too wide and hit the brakes, then just slid straight forward across to the other lane and into the jag (according to the passenger)"

LOL

Always arrive and leave a car meet very slowly. :D
