**The big ol' Z97 thread!**

I can only go by memory of Z87 prices and Rog boards in particular. The Z97 hero is a few quid cheaper than the Z87 version was at launch.

Good selection Ocuk :)

The xpower looks alright, a plx board for well under £300!!

Agreed. I am testing this very soon. The M Power I have already tested and assisted with the Bios tweaking and compatibility its working well. Solid.

The Asus ROG boards look horribly overpriced compared to gigabyte gaming.

Your comparing products with totally different concepts. ROG are always full out overclocking tweaking etc. Gaming is less featured but solid to game on. Gigabytes OC range is more comparable to ROG with the OC Force doing a great job in this segment.

Am I reading too much into the '2 x PCI Express x16 slots running at x16' as not many boards have it?
Will it make any noticeable difference?

Mentioned a few times earlier in the thread. Not really, its main benefit is better 3 & 4 card support.

I think the red colour sniper is aimed at the rog boards, kinda fits in better rather than the green

they might bring out a matx version later on

They already have 9 (!) other red/black boards at various price points, most of them gamer-oriented. I don't see the reasoning behind making the Sniper less distinctive.

Will the stock be ready to ship on Friday as I want a Gigabyte Z97N-Gaming 5 m-ITX and a corsair 250D delivered next Saturday?

EDIT- just seen ScottiB's post so I think I will hold off on my order for now (Grrrr, had my new 4670k and 8GB of beast RAM sitting there for a couple of weeks waiting for a motherboard).

true gaming boards are not on the same level as the rog boards.

i have been searching for z97 matx board & i can't find anything that matches the gene by asus.

The Gene is probably the best mATX board there is currently. Huge amount of features, looks amazing as well.

Dk was sposed to mean dc lol, auto correct!
Yeah seen that, and the msi page on ocuk shows it but no product page. Little bit Concerned about the overvolt cpu but I dont really know, have been out the game for ages and never really oced before so not surenif its and issue or not.

5ghz from a 4770k seems good to me though??

Lack of future connections is annoying too, thought that was a main point for z97. It does look like a decent board though.
