**The big ol' Z97 thread!**

Think I'm just going to pass Z97 and move to a higher end Z87 board, I don't need sata express or M-2. By the time I do I'd be shocked if I was still on 1150 anyhow.

From what I can make out SE/M2 is the only real difference going from z87 classy to z97 classy and as is I can get the Z87 classy direct from EVGA for £250. Decisions and money burning a hole :(

Nah no step up as I don't own the thing yet, just looking for something with that extra edge over my x-oc while giving my self a tri-sli option if required.

Yeah agreed, from whats made out on the EVGA forums the only difference is that of SE/M2, so don't see the point in waiting another month for the Z97 to get EU stock.

Who is US and WE, you know 8pack many here inc myself do not give a monkeys what you think or say?

I said "nearly the same", its 90% about the CPU today.

Some of the things you come out with are pure crazy.

You sure like to post crazy crap in peeps threads but do not like others having an option.

I can prove correct anything I state. I have tested these boards. I help with bios build, debugging and efficiency. Which manufacturers ask you for help with this stuff???

I'm sorry to be ignorant but how important will it be to get a board with both the m.2. Thing and sata express? Bit confused between them and what benefit they will bring In the future.

I was looking at getting the Asus Hero, but noticed it doesn't have the Sata express ports.

Entirely depends if you plan on using sata express or m2?

Tbh you probably wouldn't notice much difference between an m2 ssd and a regular sata3 ssd in terms of real world usage.

Hate that Gigabyte have got rid of the green theme on the sniper boards and moved to red, they just look like every other board available on the market now, I used to love DFI too and there green and yellow theme, it made them unique.

Still keeping my fingers crossed that Z87 will support 4790k, otherwise if I had to choose a new Z97 board I think id probably go for the MSI this time.

You won't miss it. Looking at the hero myself, IMO the best looking Z97 board.

Again, MY OPINION which you do not seem to like others having but try to force yours upon, I would not ask you the time of day TBH.

I wonder what they would think if they read some of the nonsense you post here.

:( was a sad sad day when DFI stopped producing consumer boards...

I bought my first "proper" enthusiast board a DFI UT NF4 Ultra-D from the clearance section on OCUK :) was well chuffed with it. I think they were one the first manufacturer to change from the boring standard circuit board to using colour plastics and such.

They are still alive although they only make workstation and industrial motherboards these days :(

Wonder if OCUK could pull some strings and get DFI to produce some Z97 / X99 boards??? :)
