Lag issue - Samsung UE40D8000

Hi all,

I have quite an annoying problem with my Samsung UE40D8000 and watching football.

You'll have to bear with me whilst I explain this, but those of you who watch live football on Sky will be familiar with the graphic that sweeps across the screen before and after a replay clip of any goals/incidents. Usually, it's the trophy of what ever competition the match belongs to.

Well after that graphic has disappeared from the screen, the picture suffers from extreme lag for a few seconds. It's extremely noticeable.

I have the latest firmware installed but this hasn't improved anything at all.

Any ideas?

This has gone on for years with lots of modern day TV's and it's to do with the picture processing and there is nothing that can be done.

My UE46F6800 doesn't do it, fortunately. My parents TV does (LE40A656).

I know exactly what you mean and it can be very distracting.

It's a problem with samsung processing, it's the only thing that makes my 55F8000 **** me off other than that it's the perfect tv

Not just Samsung. I've seen it across all makes and models.

Never once seen it on the pannys GT60,ET60 and DT65 or my pioneer 5090(and my eyes seem to pick up these things)

And so do mine (as a TV engineer). The LZD80 Panasonics did it, Toshibas and Sharps and even the Sony V and W4000's did it.
