A cheap Mic cant, sorry, but the Mics in the Kinect are of a pretty high standard.

The microphones built into Kinect will be a tiny fraction of the overall cost, the expensive stuff in Kinect is the camera, motors and software they've developed.

Also agree about price, £350 is ridiculous it needs to be £300 at most without Kinect and that's assuming Sony don't respond by cutting PS4.

For £250-275 then MS would shift some serious units ($399.99=£237 on todays exchange rate).

£350 or even £300 is typical out of touch MS watch PS4 continue to outpace the XB1.

I'm guessing this is why OcUK removed the XB1 from the listings?

I've been waiting for this as I have no interest in Kinect. I'm glad they've done this, expected the price to be much lower though :(

Need some ridiculous game bundles to tempt me at that price.

WiiU screen essential for the release games and designed with them in mind, games like ZombieU using it.

I don't feel that the gamepad is essential in any way whatsoever. I would have much preferred they used that money to improve the specs of the machine and add a hard drive.

The gamepad and kinect were both a waste of time.

So they're not going to shaft Kinect-less people by releasing some games that say "Requires Kinect" on the box are they? And what about games already released? Are there any that require Kinect?

Yeh the padscreen on the WiiU is probably the weakest of Nintendos revolutions, you could argue that it is showing in their struggles this gen which kind of reinforces my point. :p

It'll be the same as the Xbox 360 I'd expect. There'll be games that need Kinect (e.g. Fitness Running Simulator 2014 and Dance Your Legs Off 5), games that don't need Kinect but have "Better with Kinect" features, and games that don't use it at all.

Great move by Microsoft, when Halo & Gears land I will pick one up. They'll be able to compete much better now with this SKU.

So Microsoft have just fragmented the market, now devs will simply ignore the Kinect given it's just an add on. All I've heard over the last few months is how MS cant drop it, it's their vision and fragmenting the market would be disastrous.

Secondly, apparently they are pricing the Kinnectless version at £349?

Are they having a laugh, so pay £349 for a Kinnectless X1 when only a couple of weeks ago they were selling Titanfall budless with Kinect for £339 at Tesco's and £349 at Adsa?

Surely they know we know what prices they were selling them at, yet expect us to see this as a good deal?

This will end up selling £300 soon enough the official price wont last :)

Shame it's taken them this long to do this it should have been an option from the beginning :p

They aren't selling for that any more though so yes, it is a saving compared to the full Xbox One SKU.

So they push the price up on one SKU to make this new SKU look like a saving, hence why I said surely they know we know what they were selling for and will not fall for these tricks.

They haven't really fragmented their user base. The Kinect was never going to be a mandatory controller for a AAA game.

The Kinect is useless for proper games, the tech has been round long enough for someone to have made a AAA game for it by now.
