AMD signs up 40 development studios for Mantle

I'd rather run my nuts through a combine harvester.

Can't say I disagree.

Game will be nothing spectacular, the game certainly doesn't need Mantle.
HOWEVER, it is a big win for Mantle, we're on the case of regular games on their API.

Isn't helping towards getting away from Windows yet like lol.

This.

And looking to the future, W9 (Windows 365) is rumoured to be a subscription service...... Looks like I could be trying Linux out if this is true.

Yeah, you won't be doing that, because it's simply not viable for gaming native, and if it ever does, will be a while off.

Once i saw the trailer i just knew id have to play it. Dum Dum Dum Dum. :D

Its a shame because i could just see Rusty being the Chomper and Martini being the Sunflower. :(

Cut from the same (green) velvet cloth. :p

Rusty, i hope i can mark you down to play some Plants vs Zombies with me and Tommy in June.

Will my 290 run it? :o

I'm looking forward to this game, just screaming fun like Lemmings and Worms, remember those?

LMAO... I bet if Ubisoft made it and it had PhysX, it would be slated :D Even I would slate it but being Mantle, it looks awesome.... You funny people :p

It could be fun, never said it looks awesome though. As its a Mantle game ill try it regardless. Its cheap as well (at least it is through that cd key site) so don't mind spending a few quid on it. I like co-op multiplayer shooters, but this my first cartoon game ill admit. :p

Fair one and it is cheap. It just looks like one of those stupid facebook games that people hound me to play :D

Yea i never played the original or this as to me there is no appeal. I was surprised to see just how many of my steam friends played it though. They still play it so it can't be too bad. I doubt very much it's my cup of tea though.

I liked the original PvZ, but it was a novel and fun take on the tower defence genre (basically).
This new one, in my opinion, just sold out and went down the 1st/3rd person route. It seems that if you want to make a cheap and cheerful game or movie ti-in ten it's best to just make a formulaic 1st/3rd person shooter. There are so many games in this genre already I'm just disappointed that there's another one.

Excellent. We'll mark you down for a copy then GM. I picture you as the spiky Cactus.
