DPD: Sunday deliveries!

I ordered off Amazon today and am getting the item delivered tomorrow via my Prime membership - awesome sauce.

Thinking about it...it's been going on for a little while now as my Mrs was shocked a while back that I got a delivery on Sunday.

DPD are good, text message this morning that my delivery will be between 8:40 and some other time that it did not state, it came at 8:49, 16 hours after placing the order on the interweb!

DPD delivered my £15 worth of cat food from amazon this morning, I was surprised, probably cost amazon that in postage, love prime and DPD and OCUK as they use DPD ;)

When HDNL did the majority of Amazon's deliveries, they would often deliver on a Sunday, but this was always a local arrangement rather than a regularly offered chargeable service. What DPD are offering is different - a specific day definite Sunday delivery.

last time i had saturday delivery the douches didnt even put it on the van! i was not happy!

DPD charge them peanuts, they have taken over chasing after the bottom end of the market after city link gave it up.

Their service standards have plummeted this past year.

Two years ago I couldn't prise a DPD customer away from them with a ton of TNT, now I don't even have to get near the pricing, people just want their stuff delivered.

How much extra will DPD drivers get for working Sundays?

Their owner drivers will be told they are working Sunday and offered a proportional increase in per drop payments.

They won't have a choice, they will have to do it or have their contracts canceled.

They can't even deliver on a saturday from my last 2 orders that have used them in a row, so sunday delivery is out of their reach imo.

Owner drivers tend to work insane hours per week already, they must be allowed a day off.
